Farmer Mac sees strong 2022 despite macro concerns##
Current Analysis##:
Farmer Mac delivered solid results despite macroeconomic headwinds due to higher spreads and a strong farm economy. We provided $9bn in liquidity and lending capacity, upped 2022 mortgage loans and maintained access to debt capital markets backed with strong capital and liquidity. Key financial drivers remained an increase in business volume and earnings, disciplined interest rate risk management and effective funding strategies. Despite rising rates, core earnings reflected an increase in net effective spread, while net income was due to net interest income and fair value fluctuations.
